Since I retired from pastoral ministry just over two years ago, I haven’t done much public speaking. A few things here and there, but nothing compared to the weekly Sunday sermons I preached and the almost weekly Bible classes and ministry meetings (did these things for 25 years). Mostly, I’ve been busy writing. Speaking with my hands, you could say. But over the next several weeks that’s going to change. I have four different speaking … READ MORE
We’re just about halfway through the summer, and it’s been as busy as I predicted. It’s been about six weeks since I’ve done a blog update on my writing life. Today, I’ll bring you up to speed. It’s due in by the … READ MORE
My newest novel, The Discovery, has been out about 7 weeks now and doing well. As of now, there are 55 customer reviews on Amazon, averaging 4.6 Stars. Very grateful for that. And we’ve received some extremely good reviews from a number of magazines and blogs, such as: USA Today, RT Book Reviews, Crosswalk.com and Christianbook.com (to name a few). Tomorrow (Sat), I’ll be traveling to Orlando for a booksigning at a Lifeway Christian store … READ MORE
Last weekend I had a wonderful time at the Word Weavers retreat in Fruitland Park, FL. If you’ve been following my blog, you know it was the first time I’ve done any public speaking about writing (I was a pastor for 25 years, so speaking in public wasn’t a challenge). Seemed to go well. No one threw anything at me, nor did anyone get up and leave while I spoke. I consider both of these … READ MORE
